I googled hoping to find out more information on anyone's experience after scratching Smove's car, but didn't find any..
Hopefully you found this and can better handle the situation or be mentally prepared.
The scratch was something like this:
Notice some paint is gone, check the spot and see if it was the paint/debris from the other object you scratched.
If the paint is not deep, I would suggest rushing home to get a polish and use the heck out of your elbows to polishing that area to a shine as fast as possible.
Then came the process of the smove staff hounding you, which doesn't take very long.
2 days later, they call by a landline number which I didn't answer, after trying twice they sent a text introducing themselves, which I ignored as well.
Finally a 2nd text was sent and I replied, they were asking me to call back.
When I called back, "Sir, on xxx date did you scratch the car?"
"Yes"
"Yes la hor, ok we will send the car to the workshop and get it done as fast as possible. Then send you the charges"
"Can you waive the administrative charge?"
"I will try sir, but it is to be approved"
"Thank you, bye bye"
I know about this administrative charge as a post on the Hardwarezone forums came up on google, which stated this charge was due to you as the user, not reporting about it and so paying for the manpower for investigation. The post was something along the lines of a repair on the pillar of the car. Which the total charge was like $575! God damn that's a lot!
So being mentally prepared, I waited for the charge. Mahciam Army tio charge ah.
Eventually the bill came:
On Top of that repair cost they still added in $60 time loss and $40 for manpower to send in to workshop. Due to my "best" co-operation there is no insurance claims or cost, whatever that means.
With a little research, I found cheaper spray paint quotes starting from $150, questionable panel knocking which I think the car did not need at all, it doesn't help that the workshop that did the repair had no working website..
P.S. I did find somewhat of a semblance of a facebook page where a Smove user (I'm guessing only) left an interesting review for them! Go see! No prizes that the bill looked like a rip off!
Haven't been driving ever since the incident. With no plans to continue, until maybe ATD expiry kicks in and a reduction in drivers, drives up the incentives (pun intended).
Again, share this post, comment with suggestions/ideas/what you could like to hear!
Cheers~!
