Starhub fiber internet users, how to restore your home wifi.

So your home wifi down?

Checked out downdetector.sg and thousands others having the same issues?

CNA said restart your router and modem but still not getting internet?

Starhub Singapore facbook page says hold on guys?

Someone commented to change your DNS server, here's how:

1. Determine your default gateway IP address:

- Go to Network Connections, press start and type "Network Connections"

- Double click your wifi card, details..

2. Fire up your browser (Chrome/Firefox/Microsoft Edge), we are going into your router configuration with that default gateway IP address:

P.S if you are using this router below and the white logo was blinking after restarting, please restart it again.

You may have to configure a password if this is your first time, or ask your friendly IT person that helped configure your router last time (your Dad or ex-BF perhaps).

If you get an error message saying you can't detect the internet, there is a small check box near the bottom of the page that says skip. Hit that skip.

Go to connectivity:

Local network:

And set your DNS as per below:

Your router will reboot/loose connection for a short bit and you should be back in business!

Please comment if it helped you!

Solution to Connecting Bluetooth Samsung Galaxy Note S8 with Logitech M590 Silent Mouse

Got myself a Logitech M590 for use with my laptop and Samsung Galaxy Note S8, but the Samsung could not detect the mouse.

Unable to find the mouse during searching.
Tried another Samsung S8 to no avail.

In the end the work around was to use a USB-C to USB connector WITH the bluetooth dongle that came with the mouse.

Super pointless, but I emailed both Logitech and Samsung where received no response and this is the current way that ways.

Chiropractic solution?

Based on a few reviews, my fiancee wanted to try out a chiro, the reviews below:

Typed them up for your reading pleasure:
Health prior to treatment:
vertigo and feeling of disorientation
ENT sepcialist have told me there is nothing they can do as my ears are fine and it is due to nerve

Benefit:
no more vertigo or disorientation after one adjustment
trigger finger condition improved substantially
numbness on left hand when awake in the morning is gone
neck movement is much better turning my head is less restricting
able to get back to jogging and cycling
-Micheal chiam, 6 Aug 2015

Health prior to treatment:
I have always been very health, never sick and exercising every day. But one day, working on my
computer, I was suddenly hit by a massive headache on the whole left side of my head.
Blurry vision and so much pain i couldn't sleep.
So I went to various doctors and nothing was improving, almost got scammed by another clinic promising
me full recovery in 6 months providing 7k payment up front.
So I called my friend Dr.Greg whom I know from skydiving togehter
He told me to go fo a radio of my neck and then to come to his practice.

Benefit:
The beneif was immediate and huge.
Beyond that, Dr. Greg also explains everything in simple terms, as a result, my health in not only
better butmy understanding of my body in daily life is much greater.
On the 1st session, my headache was gone.
within 3 sessions, my neck was recovered and i haven't had any issues since!

Anyone tried this? Seems promising.

ebay: How to set to international shipping?

I had actually posted my item for a weeks now and when I did a check on google, then into ebay to look for my listing. I couldn't find it.

My first suspicion was that I didn't "enable" international shipping thus it wasn't listed. But I could not remember even seeing the option! I'm from Singapore and all the shipping related was for local only.

Even after a quick google search I couldn't find the answer, something like going into Account settings and shipping preferences.. Nope, not what I want.

The answer lies when you are listing the item:

Viola! Item with international shipping!

You can see the item here (please support!):

Oh crap, scratched the bumper on the Smove car

I googled hoping to find out more information on anyone's experience after scratching Smove's car, but didn't find any..

Hopefully you found this and can better handle the situation or be mentally prepared.

The scratch was something like this:
Notice some paint is gone, check the spot and see if it was the paint/debris from the other object you scratched.

If the paint is not deep, I would suggest rushing home to get a polish and use the heck out of your elbows to polishing that area to a shine as fast as possible.

Then came the process of the smove staff hounding you, which doesn't take very long.

2 days later, they call by a landline number which I didn't answer, after trying twice they sent a text introducing themselves, which I ignored as well.

Finally a 2nd text was sent and I replied, they were asking me to call back.

When I called back, "Sir, on xxx date did you scratch the car?"
"Yes"
"Yes la hor, ok we will send the car to the workshop and get it done as fast as possible. Then send you the charges"
"Can you waive the administrative charge?"
"I will try sir, but it is to be approved"
"Thank you, bye bye"

I know about this administrative charge as a post on the Hardwarezone forums came up on google, which stated this charge was due to you as the user, not reporting about it and so paying for the manpower for investigation. The post was something along the lines of a repair on the pillar of the car. Which the total charge was like $575! God damn that's a lot!

So being mentally prepared, I waited for the charge. Mahciam Army tio charge ah.

Eventually the bill came:

On Top of that repair cost they still added in $60 time loss and $40 for manpower to send in to workshop. Due to my "best" co-operation there is no insurance claims or cost, whatever that means.

With a little research, I found cheaper spray paint quotes starting from $150, questionable panel knocking which I think the car did not need at all, it doesn't help that the workshop that did the repair had no working website..

P.S. I did find somewhat of a semblance of a facebook page where a Smove user (I'm guessing only) left an interesting review for them! Go see! No prizes that the bill looked like a rip off!

Haven't been driving ever since the incident. With no plans to continue, until maybe ATD expiry kicks in and a reduction in drivers, drives up the incentives (pun intended).

Again, share this post, comment with suggestions/ideas/what you could like to hear!

Cheers~!

Why I created this blog

So in case you didn't know, I have a blog that is all about cycling: dualcircles.blogspot.com
When I do want to share about things non-cycling related, i can't bring myself to post it on the same blog, so as not to side track the theme. But there are many things I feel the world will be better place if I were to share, so here goes!

Things I want to write about:

  • Hacks, tips and tricks to get more bang out from your buck
  • Driving tips from Uber Flex Club (UFC)
  • Health tips
  • Environmental tips
  • Give me suggestions :)

Giddiness, dizziness, constant floating sensation, the world spinning, vertigo, wobbly, swaying, BPPV

This sensation occurs at the slightest trigger, for instance when you move your head quickly when twisting round for the car seatbelt.

So the main reason I want to create this page is for all of you people out there with these symptoms that you are not alone, and to see if there are commonalities between you guys. And to hopefully have the cure.

So my fiancee has this one day after we played in a Condominium's swimming pool.

And these are the things she has tried:

  • Seeing multiple general doctors who all think it was fluid/ear imbalance.
    • which is a series of special head movements, under the direction of your doctor, to dislodge these crystals. Which strangely it seemed to help in the first place.
      • Then it kinda didn't help at all.
  • Seeing a Ear Nose Throat (ENT) specialist at Singapore General Hospital
    • Which sent her for a MRI
      • And found nothing.
  • Seeing multiple Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners
    • Acupuncture
    • Acupuncture with electrodes
    • Various mixed herbs and Chinese medicine for quite a period of time
We are basically also now very mindful of health, so we are taking basic supplements like vitamins, omega-3 and protein which helps.

We have found that the triggers are quite consistent:
  • Lack of sleep
  • High levels of stress
  • Anxiety
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol
And one of the biggest thing I personally think contributes is Chlorine, which may be linked with the swimming pool, drinking water and showers.

Please, please, please do comment on this post, on anything at all! Things that can help, other triggers or things to avoid, experiences, etc.

Keeping in motion seems to help reduce the symptoms, driving up/down circular winding car-parks are bad, when taking the plane and it tilts it's bad too, sleeping on the side sometimes.

Cures
  • Sufficient sleep everyday, get a sleeping tracker and find ways to improve your quality of sleep
  • Exercise helps to keep to body fit
  • Keep a dairy of when it occurs and any specific things that makes it worse.
  • Water filtration system to get rid of Chlorine
  • Walk around every hour for 5-10 minutes. Fixate your eyes on an object in the distance and slowly move your head around while fixated on the object. It helps to retrain your brain and balance. It also helps reduce your anxiety about the situation.
  • Upping electrolyte intake.
